Sorry for the confusion. I do understand that they're not directly
affiliated. This is a message from you on Friday 1/13:

Matthew, did we get a decision on the 2600 meetings? we got sidetracked
again.
Are we going to call a meeting eventually?
Chris P. our treasurer, are you on here still? I had thought ellis was our
treasurer but apparently he's our scribe, so whats up?

hey you kinda have us confused. 2600 is not really affiliated with make
lehigh valley, although all of the "active members" of lv2600 are active in
make lehigh valley.

A friend and I are planning to stop by on the 28th to say hello and check
out the space. This seems like a great opportunity. I have something else
going on but can stop by for awhile. After lurking on the list for a while
I can see we're pretty new to it all by comparison. I do some soldering
(badly) from time to time and have both a Portasol & a $9 Radio Shack iron I
will bring along for us to use.
Can I ask what is on the agenda regarding 2600 for your board meeting? Just
curious. Long time reader but I'm not actively involved otherwise.

I agree, a board meeting makes sense. I'm okay with puling the Thurs event
on the 26th.

We can definitely have things sent to the building. I would use the
following:
Hive 4A Makerspace
905 Harrison St
Unit 101
Allentown, PA 18103
I'd also like to propose canceling the open hack on Thursday, January 26
since we will be getting together on the 28th for a long one. During the
open hack on the 28th, we should probably carve out an hour or so for a
"board meeting." Thoughts?
Also, as I mentioned to the members last night, I have to cancel the
February 9th open hack due to another obligation that night.
Okie dokie!?

I'd say bring it. The more variety of things we have for people to explore,
the more successful the whole experience is likely to be.

Is a microwave an acceptable thing to bring ( big old over the stove model
where at least the fan should be useful)?

We're opening up on Saturday, January 28th for the day. The intention is
promotion of Make Lehigh Valley in the community. Please share stuff with
friends who may be interested as things come along, such as the facebook
event.
We'd like to see two activities going on during the day. We'll need to be
sure some folks are around to help.
 take stuff apart
 learn to solder
The first is pretty easy. We're going to invite people to bring things to
tear apart and help show them how to do that and how the things they are
opening up work. We have stuff, but we'll invite people to bring their own.
I created an event on Facebook for this, you can find it on our facebook
page: https://www.facebook.com/makelv.
The other thing is teaching soldering. Do we have stuff around to build up a
basic soldering course in time? Do we have folks that can commit to being
around for a certain period of time to do it?
Do you have any ideas on how we can do a better job of getting the word out?
Where can we publish it to get local attention?
