Sam,
Like most home shop hobbyists, I have a "junk box." I'm sure there are
some gears and other cute parts which you might covet. Do you have specific
needs, or are you just interested in transferring the contents of my junk
box to your junk box? Do you fancy big stuff, or little stuff, like
clockworks?

Welcome Pat.
I am also new to Make Lehigh Valley.
My interest is in making Steam Punk Art/paraphernalia. I'm looking for
brass/copper/bronze things things with metal gears. I can electro plate copper
over iron so iron gears are fine.
I'm also interested in working with PMC. Someone had said something about
investing in a kiln. I would be interested in helping with that.

Let me introduce myself to the list.
I am a retired USAF officer with degrees in aero engineering and mecha
nical engineering, plus an MBA. I have tools and projects related to
metalworking -- lathe, mill, welding, etc.
I found this list while searching for a part for a Sears garage door
opener, and found that I was not alone in seeking a pat that Sears no longer has
available. (81C14) Following that lead, I found that a MakeLehigh lister
had arranged to replicate the part using a 3D printer.
So, there was a convergence of my real-world need for a gear, and my
latest obsession -- 3D printers. I hope this goes far beyond my need for a
little gear, and on to a lively discussion roup interested in all applications
of new technology.
Pat
