Thanks!  The bare (reed) switches are also marked web only on the Radio Shack 
site (and I stopped in to one that I passed yesterday running some 
errands--no luck.  Thinking about it today, I think they did have some reed 
relays, and I could disasseble one of those to get a switch.  All things to 
think about...

Hmm, I wonder if that Radio Shack that someone here has mentioned--over on the 
south side of Allentown somewhere, iirc--sounds like they cater to 
hobbyists--maybe they'd carry the bare reed switches.

If anyone here remembers which Radio Shack that is (even by approximate 
location), let me know, I'll give them a call.
