[MakeLV] linux interest

Well I'll admit, Linux would require a separate night and most LUG chapters
work on a monthly basis. Most of the time LUG chapters have a presentation
followed by a round table discussion. Speaking about different distro's
usually starts a flame war more vibrant than that of the emacs and vim
battles (vim is better btw). Most of the presentations I have seen have
ranged from Coreboot (which was awesome, given to our local chapter by a
NetBSD developer), to installing Android on a Netbook (2 years ago).
Most of the LUG meetings happen during the week, and all the ones I've been
too involved dinner and beer afterwards. Great starting topics with Linux
are dealing with virtualization, discussions of package managers, compiling
from source intro's (can be avoided but nice to know in this day and age!),
FOSS models and hierarchies, software releases into FOSS, and mostly how a
group of people come and justify putting more into their computers rather
than just buying it off the shelf (M$).
I need to build a new linux environment so I will whip up a guide on how to
use virtual box and start playing with either debian or ubuntu.
Bill, Dave, Will, feel free to check out https://www.virtualbox.org/.
Essentially it shows you how to run an operating system inside of a window.
You can literally have a window with another microsoft windows OS running,
or Ubuntu, or even MacOS if you're willing to hack it enough.
