I lightly skimmed parts of the patent, for two reasons:

   * I wanted to see what they meant by a monopole motor--I didn't at a glance see anything that made that clear to me--but no big deal, maybe I'll look again sometime

   * to see if this (as a charger) was using the principle that some battery chargers are using to de-sulphate the plates of a battery to rejuvenate it to some extent. I really didn't see any reference to that.

If you're going to build a battery charger for lead acid batteries, you might want to consider one that includes the desulfating process.

I can't give you a link offhand, but I'd think that a little googling will turn one up. I've seen several circuits for such chargers,I've seen at least one kit, and I think that Northern Tools now sells such a charger.

I've been interested in getting my hands on one to try it out, see if it really does rejuvenate a battery, and to what extent.

I think the basic operating principle of those desulfating chargers is to send short higher voltage pulses thru the battery--I don't really know what voltage, duration, or polarity.
