It took a friend from CA to point out your site – makes me feel like it was right under my nose the whole time. I’m a network engineer by trade and a maker by night. I saw a presentation on Hackerspaces at The Last HOPE (2008) by NYC Resistor and since then have just been fascinated with the idea. I have been trying to get involved with AlphaOneLabs (also NYC) but the trip is tough to fit into my schedule and it really never works out.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I have background & experience in a little of everything (networks/security, electronics, code, mechanical, audio, botany) though am by no means an expert in any of it. A friend of mine would also be interested. How open is the group to people just showing up at an event?
