What advantages does it bring over the MakerBot and the RepRap? I notice the price is higher than a MakerBot so clearly you see some added value there. I'm curious what that is. I appreciate that you don't directly compare yourself and in that I assume you're trying not to put yourself in an adversarial role with that org which is cool, but since I asked ... :-)</div>

We're trying to be as accessible to the whole community as possible so that translates to keeping our costs down. At this point we don't have money, a budget or anything. This is made possible through the local economic development org providing our space, with some limits that will be lifted as funds become available. I think this more translates to maintenance than original cost. Raw material and parts kept at a low price are probably something worth our consideration. This is probably why professional equipment would be less likely to show up than the various RepRap type models would show up.</div>
