i have spare arduino, a ton of blank business cards sheets, i can
accept credit cards through tagdaplanet.com if that helps..., also i
can arrange pretty large marble slabs, they're pretty awesome for
soldiering or cutting stuff. only weigh like 30-40 pounds. hey
anyone remember those solar jars we never got around to finishing??
we could totally do that. assuming ellis is still cool with
donating them
Tony, that'd be awesome! You are totally invited to
be there and share 3D scanning and printing. I was
actually thinking about poking Dave to see if he
could bring his MakerBot out, but it sounds like we
can skip that.

I'm sure 3D stuff would be a great hit and I'll be
first in line to donate my head for science! ...
well, to get it scanned anyway... You can only keep
the copy.

I don't know about the indoor or outdoor component.
The Agri-Plex has options for both I think, but I'd
expect indoors since we're requesting power. I'll
double check with Karen who is listed as the
contact.
Hey, I tried to get MakerBot to be a

However, I'd like to personally bring my

could show 3D scanning people using a Kinect

This states that we have an 8-foot
table, 2 chairs and a booth with
three sides. Matthew is getting
two booths and this space he is
sharing with us. I have some
fold-up tables that could be
contributed to the purpose. We
should have electricity and
Internet access (I believe we
asked for that.)

What we need (if you
can help with one of these,
please let us know):

More small demos to put around
and show what's going on. (see
Project Ideas below)

More people to hang around the
table for an hour or longer
between 10am and 4pm.

A system to schedule people to
get in on the soldering
tutorial.

A method of taking payments
for the soldering tutorial.

A card or something small with
our website on it to give people
who come by. (Dan's Camera?)

Equipment check - make sure we
have everything to safely teach
soldering classes.

Project Ideas
If you would like to create a simple
interactive something, but don't
have any ideas, here are some I
don't expect to have time to
implement...

Fiber Optics: I have a sturdy
fiber optic cable that visibly
passes light, some strong
colorful LEDs setup to shine
color through or a small color
screen that folks could hold one
end of the fiber up to then see
it come out the other would show
off fiber tech.

Conductivity: A simple circuit
to trigger a light with a
variety of materials to test for
conductivity. Will it light if I
put a feather, a spoon, wood,
rubber and other things in the
circuit.

I have code for an Arduino and
a number pad from an electronic
battleship game that makes lots
of tunes on a piezo. I don't
have an Arduino that is free at
the moment. I also don't have a
sturdy enough case to put this
on display.

Resistor Demo: A simple
circuit that would enable people
to swap out resistors in one
place to see how it impacted the
brightness of an LED

Lemon Battery

Home-made Electro magnet

Photoresistor: A simple
circuit to light up an LED
according to how much resistance
a photoresistor provides - maybe
one of the 555 circuits that we
did earlier could be adapted to
this to be even a bit more
advanced.

Solar Power: Something based
on solar power could hit a
trending interest. This could be
as easy as having one of the
solar lights in the space torn
apart and laid out with some
labels to explain how it works.

Your Idea: If you have something
that hits your fancy, I'm all
for it.

Astronomy: (Chris Callie?)

Chemistry:
