We had a good turnout, a new member showed up a pitched in with us all day, and I feel like we got a really good handle on what we have and what we need to do. Thanks so much to everyone who helped out!</div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; "><br></div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; ">If you didn't hear, our special announcement was that we are officially insured and officers can now open the space! Hooray! Schedule is below these memory dumps.</div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; "><span style="font-size: small; "><br></span></div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; "><span style="font-size: small; ">Organization memory dump: we cleared off the large shelving by the A/C room and made an island of "things to be tested/disassembled/salvaged". We sourced boxes and containers from around the space and made labeled parts bins - stepper motors, wiring/harnesses, a board salvage box for random circuit boards (for component salvage, de-soldering practice, etc), fans, lasers & optics, etc. I took all of the fabricated parts bins (cardboard & milk jugs) and got them arranged on the shelves and physically attached them to the shelving with zip ties through the backs (after dumping at least two of them all over the floor - sorry). We decided that the area in front of the loading dock was a good place for raw materials (wood, metal, etc), so we attacked that pile of stuff and tried to eliminate "random boxes of random things" by separating them into components, stuff in the island of to-dos, and garbage. We took the crate of keyboards and made it a scrap metal bin (sorry Josh - we DID repack the keyboards into boxes), and we have a pile of plastic to get recycled/thrown out. Matthew stopped by for a few minutes and offered some advice re: scrap metal, plastic, and answered our questions on disposing of recyclables and trash. Everyone dove right into the "island" of stuff and disassembled all sorts of things and generated tons of scrap metal and components. Lou tested some printers & scanners and marked them as good/bad, he also went through our new "Power supplies" box and tested & marked them all. We reserved the bottom shelf for in-progress projects and equipment that needs specific repair (this needs a belt, these bench lights need re-wiring, etc)</span></div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; "><span style="font-size: small; "><br></span></div><div style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 10pt; "><span style="font-size: small; ">Fun stuff memory dump: We ordered pizza and had it delivered (finding us is an adventure), Alex (new) donated a 5W water-cooled laser that we all drooled on for awhile (it's a must-see next time you're there), Jeff made progress on the etching project between organizing by expoxying (word?) the tank instead of silicone. We found a working LCD projector!
