[edit] What?

[edit] Why?

[edit] How?

[edit] Network structures

[edit] Single trusted services host

  • easiest, least tolerant to failure

[edit] Group of known, operations-transparent hosts/main nodes

  • failover-capable, right? silent database updates to backup hosts until current head node goes offline

[edit] Fully distributed

  • ...most complicated. most tolerant to failure(?). is that level of tolerance really... necessary? it's not intended for emergency type stuff, emergency services are better equipped for that, right?

[edit] Routing approaches

  1. Strong omnidirectional antennas. Strong omnidirectional antennas everywhere. This approach leans toward somewhat homogenous hardware, which is nice
  2. "clusters" of nodes (clients?) within range of a strong omnidirectional router ("hub"), which itself has a (strong) directional antenna, pointed to another "hub" nearby. connect blocks this way?
  3. Strong directional antennas aimed down rows of homes. Most housing developments are organized in square blocks anyways.
