If you haven’t spent any time in IRC, you may want to give it a try. It is a bit like hanging at the hackerspace, but slower and it’s open all the time.
If you don’t know anything about connecting to IRC, don’t let it intimidate you. There are a ton of options for programs, but each one will probably already have a preset for the Freenode service that we use. Install the program that seems most likely to fit your need and Open/Connect/Whatever the freenode preset/server. Then in the window that comes up type /join #makelv. You can then type questions, comments and have other insightful conversations like the one here between pabut and tronwizard.
12:21 * pabut pokes head up 13:36 * tronwizard "Whack-a-Mole!" grabs mallet 14:02 * pabut dizzy .... stars ..... thud.
See you there. I go by the name flickerfly.
If anyone is looking for an IRC CLIENT so far I’m likin’ PIDGIN http://pidgin.im/ …. not only will it connect to IRC but it will connect to Google Talk … AIM (does anyone still use that?) and a dozen other messaging services … Best of all it runs on MAC, LINUX and WINDOWS.
